This iReport is part of an assignment:
Fire in Korea's Crown Jewel (unreported)
Thursday, January 23rd, around 9:00 A.M (Seoul time), I spotted a fire on the roof or top floors of the Incheon, Songdo Sheraton.
I took a lot of pictures and waited around for the fire trucks.
No one was evacuated from the hotel.
I was later told by a "high level official," that evacuating the hotel would bring bad publicity to Songdo (Korea's newest and brightest IFEZ, home of the UN's Global Climate Fund).
As a resident, I worry about my family's safety if a fire erupts in our apartment.
At what point does "saving face," become more important than saving lives?
I have more photos.
