Android Incorporated into Car System- 2014 Special

2014 has come with many surprises and expectations in the field of technology. Automobiles are never behind the progress and hence it is going to incorporate the most fascinated system, Android in 2014. Google and a number of automakers are planning to bring Android to cars with the launch of a new group called the Open Automotive Alliance. The OAA, a global alliance of technology and auto industry leaders, committed to bringing the Android platform to cars starting in 2014. There are more than 1 billion cars rolling on the roads. Cars are the mostly needed station wagons but today the strong bond between automobiles and the mobile technology is not always smoothly continuous and hence OAA, group of leading automakers and technology companies has come to share a vision for making technology in the car safer, more seamless and more intuitive for everyone.

    Android in Car System

Now, let’s go into the details. OAA aims to accelerate auto innovation with an approach that offers openness, customisation and scale. With Apple’s iOS in the Car initiative conspicuously failing to materialise yet, Google decided to waste no time and at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas flexed its muscle by signing up car makers Audi, General Motors, Honda and Hyundai, along with chip giant Nvidia. The main goal behind the innovation is to expand the mobile networking features of vehicle build by Honda and etc.

This open development model and common platform will compel automakers to bring more easily cutting-edge technology to drivers. It will develop an opportunity for drivers and passengers to have powerful experiences in a safe and scalable way. Calling the car the ultimate mobile computer, Nvidia boss Jen-Hsun Huang said that onboard supercomputing chips his company produces will make possible “futuristic cars of our dreams”. Apart from above descriptive plans, the biggest high-tech automotive trend on display at CES 2014 was self-driving cars, not just in concept but in real-world demonstrations. The technology being demonstrated showed that automakers will implement self-driving cars feature by feature rather than presenting an entirely autonomous car all at once. Technology will be at its peak and components will be like radars, lasers, cameras and processor inside the car will be able to construct a three dimensional environment and can also interpret sensor information. Nvidia’s announcement of its Tegra K1 processor at CES 2014, with an extraordinary 192 cores, is one piece of hardware that could enable the future autonomous car. In fact, Audi announced it would use the K1 chip in production cars in the near future.

It’s a Global Partnership to accelerate Innovation in the cars by flourishing an Open Ecosystem for the Open Road. Undoubtedly OAA will give ground baking results by the end of this year and the marriage between these mobile devices and automobiles is certainly one of the more sensible ones.
