    Frozen Hudson...morning commuter woes

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     PankajP was taking the ferry from Jersey City to Wall Street, New York, on his way to work on the morning of January 24 when he photographed the icy Hudson River he was crossing through. Temperatures hovered around 5 to 10 degrees in the morning. On a normal day the ferry ride would be around 10 minutes, but he says today because of the ice in the river the ferry was running an hour behind schedule and the ride took 30 minutes.
    - Jareen, CNN iReport producer

Pictures taken during this morning commute on the ferry to Wall Street. Ferries were running almost an hour behind schedule due to the frozen river causing major delays for people trying to get to work.

Boats were running totally full with people edging and pushing to even find a standing space inside the boat...which is rare for this form of 'civilized commute'. For the uninitiated, the NY Waterway ferries are marketed as a civilized commute and better alternative to the trains in all their advertisements and promotional material.
