My Dad took my cousin and I (ages 11 & 12) to see The Ed Sullivan Rehearsal Show on Feb. 9, 1964 like any other Sunday afternoon, not knowing he was going to find thousands of girls outside the theatre. Needless to say, we did not get tickets, disappointed and upset, we we began to walk away. As we were about to cross the street at the corner, a police officer stopped us as a limousine started to turn down the side street to the stage door entrance. My dad didn't know what to do when we spotted Paul sitting at the window of the limo and winked at us, I think we scared him when we started screaming and crying, as the crowds ran after the limo to the stage door. We were still in shock as we began to argue which one of us Paul actually winked at.
I may forget a lot of things but that moment will never be if it happened yesterday. That was the beginning of a 50 year ongoing love of the greatest band of all time. We want to thank them for all the joy and memories.
