    No Eagles Floating By Today

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Maureen Moore was visiting the Hudson River near Cornwall, New York, on January 23 to photograph bald eagles that fly around the area, but she says there was none outside. Instead, she photographed the frozen Hudson River. 'When it becomes this frozen I normally can see one of the Coast Guard ice cutters floating up and down the river breaking the ice. Apparently, they didn't come till later and I found most of the ice had been broken up by Friday,' she explained.
    - Jareen, CNN iReport producer

I frequently go down to the Hudson River in winter to see if I can catch a bald eagle or two floating down the river on blocks of ice. Well I found the ice but no floating. The Hudson River near Cornwall, NY is totally frozen. I guess I'll have to head up to Roseton, near Danskammer Energy Plant or down to Indian Point to find some visiting winter eagles.
