Protest photos from Ukraine: Behind the barricades

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Freddy UA, he asked to be identified with an alias, has been documenting the protesting in Kiev, Ukraine. 'Ukrainians are protesting because people are disappointed and shocked by the actions of the government -- from the refusal of signing the convention with the EU to police violence, kidnapping and bulling of protesters,' he said. He says on January 24 protesters and police were trying to work through a truce, but the situation is still tense. 'For protesters it looks dangerous because on the other side of the barricades there are still a large number of police who are on duty and ready to attack at any moment. In addition, now it is quite cold, so protesters have to make fires,' he said.
