How Cold is it in the Northeast?

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     liznealon took an unexpectedly chilly train ride from Philadelphia to New York City on the evening of January 25. While on the Amtrak train she photographed a train door caked with frost and ice. 'My first thought was that it looks like we are traveling through Antarctica, rather than New York,' she said. She says the entire trip was about an hour and a half and during the ride heavy, blowing, and drifting snow could be seen outside the train's windows. 'We all had to file single file through the train to get to an open door to exit the train. There was least 2 inches of snow on the platform in between each car. It was hard to imagine how all that snow got in there,' she said.
    - Jareen, CNN iReport producer

Two inches of snow inside the car on an Amtrak train from Philadelphia to New York on Saturday, January 25, 2014. So many doors on the train were frozen shut that passengers had to exit in a long, single file through the train to an open door.
