The Yucatán Peninsula – from tourist filled beaches to secluded – it’s all yours

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Warm water, friendly people, and quiet beaches keep Matt Swinden and his wife returning to the Yucatan Peninsula time after time.
    - dsashin, CNN iReport producer

Yucatán Peninsula, MEXICO – For some of the most picturesque and unspoiled beaches in North America, it’s not a far trip down to Cancun, Mexico by plane and then by car, ferry, or bus to the beach of your dreams whether it is at one of the major resorts in Cancun, on a small island such as Isla Mujres or Isla Holbox, or even a beach amongst Mayan ruins in Tulum. White sandy beaches and blue waters have been attracting beach goers from all over the world to the Yucatán Peninsula for generations.

And if sunning on the beach isn’t your thing, but diving in the blue waters with the sea life is….then the Yucatan is also a destination with the reefs of world famous Cozumel just off the coast.
