Everytime I look at this picture....it just AMAZES me how BAD that blizzard was yesterday afternoon and how hundreds of drivers became stranded on Hwy 20 which is a four lane highway and other county highways and ditches in NE Iowa. I have learned to let the weather do the talking on my video instead of me, but a few times you could here my amazement in portions of the video. As you can see, you cannot see barely 40 feet at the height of the blizzard on Sunday late afternoon. It took about 5 hours for all the drivers to be rescued, including some EMS getting stuck rescuing the stranded. You can see I am standing only 15 feet from that rain/snow gauge and it is almost obscured. The farm sheds are barely 30 feet away and the building with the auger behind it is about 40 yards away!
