    Prime Minister of Ukraine, Mykola Azarov, has resigned.

    Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has resigned, the press service of the Cabinet.
    " In order to create additional opportunities for socio- political compromise for the sake of a peaceful settlement of the conflict , I took a personal decision to ask the President of Ukraine to accept my resignation from the post of Prime Minister of Ukraine " , - the press service quoted Azarov.
    In his statement, he noted that the current conflict situation in the country threatens the economic and social development , poses a threat to the entire Ukrainian society and every citizen .

    "The government during the confrontation did everything for a peaceful solution to the conflict . We have done and are doing everything to prevent bloodshed , the escalation of violence , violations of human rights . Government ensured the functioning of the economy and social security system in extreme conditions ," - he stressed.

    " All of these difficult years, I did everything to ensure that Ukraine could develop normally as a democratic European state - continued the Prime Minister. - I make decisions and take responsibility for the people of Ukraine. And therefore I can honestly look into the eyes of every citizen of our state , every countryman . "

    "I am grateful to all MPs , who all these years of supporting a sophisticated work of the government to modernize and reform the country," - said in a statement .

    Azarov also thanked the citizens of Ukraine who supported the government and him personally, have believed in the correctness of policy , who conducted the Cabinet.

    "Today, the most important thing - to preserve the unity and integrity of Ukraine . It is much more important than anyone else's personal plans or ambitions. That's why I made ​​this decision ," - he stressed.
    Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has held since March 2010 . In December 2012 , after the election of new members of the Verkhovna Rada , he was re-elected as head of government. In December 2013 the Verkhovna Rada failed to express confidence in the government that would lead to his resignation .
