Insult Us at Your Own Risk

Over the past few years I have watched our government with growing concern; my concerns lie in the targeting of political enemies.

The most recent attack was on filmmaker: Dinesh D'Souza, who made the anti-Obama documentary "2016: Obama's America." Apparently he has been indicted for illegal campaign contributions to a candidate that did not even win the election. It appears that he is guilty of the crime, but the prosecution seems more vigorous than with other people facing similar charges.

While I do not believe this type of targeting is not exactly a new thing, I do think that it is more blatant than in the past. There seems to be an air of “yeah I did it, what are you going to do about it”?

I am not suggesting that we should let criminals get away with crime, but what I wonder is why this case is going to be prosecuted and no one in the IRS is going to be prosecuted even though they admitted that they use their authority to target conservative groups aka political enemies of the president.

In the past, I have been concerned about the Obama Administration targeting Fox News. Unlike most media outlets, their assessment of the president is often unflattering and calls attention to issues that make the president look bad. Since the president took office there has been an assault on Fox News (the free press) First they tasked Anita Dunn with discrediting the cable news channel. They used the DOJ to target Fox New’s James Rosen over possible leaks. As recent as the president’s interview with the New Yorker he complains:

“The issue has been the inability of my message to penetrate the Republican base so that they feel persuaded that I’m not the caricature that you have seen on Fox News or Rush Limbaugh”

When the terrible tragedy in Benghazi occurred a strange story emerged from the Obama Administration suggesting that a anti-Islam video sparked the attack. This farce went on so far as to publicly arrest the film maker on a parole violation. Maybe the guy needed to be picked up, but did they have him perp walked on TV? Was it a message to us? We can find something you did wrong and there is nothing you can do about it?

As I sit here writing this, I wonder will I be targeted as a political enemy? Will I be audited this year?

Like I said before I don’t think people should not have to stand for their crimes, but I do wonder why no one was held responsible for fast and furious where one of our border agents died. No IRS prosecutions, no prosecutions for voter intimidation by black panthers....
