I traveled around Portsmouth and Norfolk this evening to do reports on the road conditions, and I was shocked. The secondary roads have yet to be plowed, and as you can see by this report I filed, that has resulted in numerous cars on both sides of the road that haven't moved since the snowstorm two nights ago, that's because most people in this area have decided to walk to where they wanted to go, instead of trying to shovel the snow out from around their cars, only to get stuck. So far, this storm has reportedly caused the city of Norfolk 1 million dollars. As of today, all 7 cities of Hampton Roads; Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Newport News, Hampton, Virginia Beach, and Chesapeake, were closed in general, and tomorrow will be no different. This weekend, it should warm up to 60 and allow a lot of this snow to melt in earnest, before another potential winter storm next week.
