    CNAs Touch Lives

Nursing is a profession that is often under appreciated. Nurses and their assistants work hard to ensure that patients are taken care of in a timely manner while often failing to care for themselves until a shift is over. Despite these challenges, nurses and their assistants usually overlook the negatives and focus on those times when they know they have made a difference in the life of a patient.

In the United States, nursing assistants are some of the people who have a lot of contact with patients. These professionals take the time to make sure patients are comfortable, which frees up nurses to focus on the medical aspects of the treatment. Anyone who is interested in becoming a certified nursing assistant, or CNA, can get the process started by taking one of the accredited CNA programs online.

After you have taken the training courses necessary and become certified through your state, you can begin to make a difference in the lives of others who are likely going through a rough time at the moment. One story out of Jamaica highlights just how much of a difference one CNA can make in a patient's life.

    Yvonne Ferguson's Story

Yvonne Ferguson is a nurses aid at St. Ann Infirmary. She is regarded as a kind and caring person who is very patient with those under her charge. She says she loves children and the elderly. There is no dispute among her patients or co-workers that she tends to spoil her patients.

She does such a great job that she won Employee of the Quarter for the quarter ending in December of 2013. She says she loves her patients and allows that love to shine through in the care she provides to them. Her co-workers say she is dedicated and that she can't be replaced.

As she nears retirement, she says that she doesn't have any regrets about the care she has provided to the residents. She says she has fulfilled one of the greatest purposes of her life by touching the lives of those who are often forgotten by other people.

    Making a Difference

Nursing assistants are usually very busy on their shifts, but those who take pride in their work, like Yvonne, get to know their patients and truly make a difference in the lives of others. If you want to make a difference, online CNA training courses might be the right option for you.
