Laeann Amos: Fitness Can Be Sexy Whether You Are Pregnant Or Not
There are many people who feel that it’s not safe to work out while pregnant. Some are told it makes the labor process a lot smoother and others feel it shouldn’t be done. I spoke with a fitness expert, Laeann Amos who told me that while carrying for nine months, it’s very health to be in shape. Her DVD “ Mommy’s Fit Pregnancy” Is a great way to do simple workouts and stay in shape with the “ bun in the oven”. This DVD will be available at the end of this month. Her book tiled, “ A Complete Guide To A Healthier Sexier You” is due to come out in March. I was able to get the exclusive and learn some tips on how to still be fit and stay sexy.
Being in the entertainment industry for ten years, Laeann does it all from radio personality, TV host and modeling! Modeling was her first love and she stated, “ I always had to keep up with my appearance and image.” Training for her first fitness competition, Laeann had a lot of work to do being as though high blood pressure and diabetes ran in her family. Her book is to let the world know that they can supplement healthcare bills by eating right and exercising. Laeann has dedicated her book to her newborn son. She doesn’t want him to be unhealthy and she wants to be active with him as he grows.
When she graduated high school she was approached about doing photo shoots and being a photographer. She started doing hair modeling, etc and it paved the way for what she’s doing now. “ It’s funny was always a talker in school and would get in trouble. Now I talk for a living”, Amos says. Working for CBS she’s interviewed many such as Nicole Richie and she started her own show and has had Ludacris, Florida, Trina, Too Short, and a lot of NFL players.
“ I always tell people who are lacking motivation and I tell them look in the mirror and see what they want to change about themselves. Everyone wants to change their body for different reasons. People have to dig within themselves and want to make it happen”,Laeann states. With her success a lot of people told her that she wouldn’t be successful. Laeann says,“ I made of list of things I wanted to do. I didn’t have a time frame. I always wanted to write a book and now ten years later I’m doing it.” With all that Laeann has and had going on she didn’t realize that ten years have flown by. I always ask people in the entertainment industry, how does one get started? Laeann says, “ You truly have to study the craft of what you want to do and learn the business.” Amos states that she involves herself with people who are doing things to keep her motivated whether they are into fitness or the brand of work she’s in. Being as though Laeann and Somaya Reece are on the same label I had to ask if they were friends. “ Yes. I’ve known Somaya since the Myspace days. We support each other in our work,” Laeann states. Laeanne is signed with LFF Publishing CEO Michele Fletcher whom she's very blessed to be working with. It’s good to know that people can work together and not be in competition with one another. “ Somaya has a help and fitness blog that I contribute to but I’m also a freelance writer and I write about health and fitness,” Laeann says. Laeann also has her own clothing line coming soon that will be from her book. I’m excited to get my copy! It was a pleasure interviewing Laeann Amos and to preorder her book please go to her website. I learned a lot about Laeann and her journey. I look forward to seeing more from her.
" Healthy doesn't have to be boring." ~Laeann
