    Grand Jury indicted officer in teen shooting

    BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Brunswick County District Attorney Jon David said the officer involved in a shooting that left a teenager dead in Boiling Spring Lakes last month has been indicted on the offense of voluntary manslaughter.David said Bryon Vassey was indicted on the offense of voluntary manslaughter in the death of Keith Vidal based on the Grand Jury's decision. The D.A. said the indictment came down around 7:30 Monday evening.

    The judge set Vassey's bond at $50,000 and he must turn himself in by noon Wednesday. The district attorney said he will hold a news conference with more information at 11 a.m. Tuesday, which you can watch LIVE at the top of this story online and on the WECT News mobile app.

    After an SBI investigation, the D.A. has cleared two other officers involved in the incident.
