    Winter Olympics 2014

Saving Innovation during the Olympic Games!

Sochi, Russia- 3rd February 2014- Russian Inventor introduces an innovative new invention for travelers travelling to the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics.
Dmitriy Vikhorev, a Russian inventor, has patented his new product aimed at making travelling easier for the Sochi Winter Olympics. The product, which he calls the ‘People’s lux-cap’ is a revolutionary new type of bottle cap which can latch onto any surface, such as a pair of jeans or a bag pack, through means of a short hook.

Initially, Vikhorev presented the idea about a year back to the three official partners of the Sochi Olympics; the airlines company AEROFLOT, the railway carriage ‘Russian Railways’ and the Telecommunications company MEGAFON. Out of the three mega companies, only AEROFLOT had given a response. Unfortunately for Dmitriy, the response was “we do not plan to spend resources on this innovation.”
Despite numerous setbacks, Vikhorev is still hopeful, carrying on with his efforts and creating three separate presentation videos for AEROFLOT, Russian Railways, and MEGAFONE. The invention is christened the ‘People’s lux-cap’ out of respect for the people that supported him in this venture, which include people from different parts of the world.
“I want to thank Gayle Beverly, Ed Bretten, Eugene Grebennikov, Alexander Jurin, Irina Ivanova, Sergei Gavrish and everyone in my team for making this venture possible,” says Dmitriy. He also questions the official partners of the Sochi Olympics “Why do these companies have the designation of the official transportation companies for tourists and athletes of the Winter Olympic Games when at the same time they do not support the innovation which increases comfort on board for travelling athletes and tourists?”
Pet bottles have become a standard for travelling tourists who mostly carry a handy bottle of water with them. The problem arises when travelers do not have convenient means of carrying these bottles, having to keep these bottles in the grasp of their hand.
The lux-cap is projected to solve these travelers’ problems by offering them a means of convenient carriage. As most airlines and transportation companies provide mineral water as a free commodity, the ‘People’s lux-cap’ is proposed to have the sponsoring company’s logo on the top of the cap, while having the people’s lux-cap logo on the side. The inventor suggests this would draw more loyalty from customers of the companies due to the added comfort and convenience provided by his invention.
However, the invention has yet to be endorsed by the official partners of the Sochi Olympics. As it has been in the pipeline since 2013, the inventor hopes the endorsement comes soon. Chances seem gloomy, however, as the Sochi Winter Olympics are fast approaching with the status of the product still pending.
Unaffected by the rejections, the inventor is still hoping that the companies will endorse his invention to make travelling easier for the participants of the Sochi Winter Olympics.
