Half Million Attend Seattle Seahawks Parade in a city of 500,000
The victorious, and underrated Seattle Seahawks shared their Super Bowl XLVIII win with their loyal and rambunctious fans, the "12th Man", during a parade Wednesday, Feb. 5, in their honor. The parade kicked off near the iconic Space Needle and touched down at CenturyLink Field, the team's home stadium, south of downtown. Fans, many dressed in team colors blue and green, seemed in awe as Coach Pete Carroll, the players, Sea Gals cheerleaders, and other staff and family members passed in quaint, open-air amphibious vehicles. Players took turns clutching the coveted Vince Lombardi Trophy which glistened under bright sunshine, unusual but welcome weather for a Puget Sound February. An estimated half-million plus fans attended, a high-volume in more ways than than one considering the population of Seattle is also just over 500,000.
