    Got a future Olympian?

    More from kgallup

    2 year old skier

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     kgallup and her husband, Dan, first met on a ski team in college and were eager to get their oldest son, Parker, out on the slopes. Not even two-years-old when his parents first took him skiing, Parker proved to be a natural. When the family went to Mammoth Mountain in Mammoth Lakes, California, this year, Parker handled both beginner and intermediate trails with ease. "He loves riding the chairlift, riding the gondola, looking for powder stashes and keeping an eye out for Mammoth's skiing mascot, Wooly," she said.

    - Verybecoming, CNN iReport producer

My husband, and I met on the ski team in college 17 years ago. Skiing has always been a big part of our lives, so we've been eager to get our first child, Parker, out there with us. Last year, at 1.5, we took him out for the first time. He'd been walking for about 6 months at the time, but really took to skiing from the start. This year, we were able to drop any harnesses and other aids and let him take off on his own. He can now ski, turn and stop on his own on both green and blue (intermediate) trails. He loves riding the chairlift, riding the gondola, looking for powder stashes and keeping an eye out for Mammoth's skiing mascot, Wooly.
