    Manila actress back to fight for rights

     
    INTERNATIONAL theater actress Monique Wilson will celebrate Valentine's Day with non-government organizations in support of the “One Billion Rising” campaign to end violence against women and children.
    Wilson, best known for appearing in the original production of "Miss Saigon" in London's West End, has been working at the UK capital for the past 13 years.
    But now that she is back in the Philippines, the actress admitted that she asked herself what she is doing living in London.
    Wilson was last seen on the Manila stage in "The King and I".
    "What am doing in London? So many activities to attend to here in the Philippines," she mused.
    "I made a very big decision to stop teaching in theater school in London because I want to serve," she added.
    Wilson clarified that she won't totally turn her back from acting but appealed to producers to make more meaningful projects.
    "If I’ll do some pictures, indie films or theater shows, they should have themes that are close to my heart," Wilson said.
