Jobs for Transitioning U.S. Veterans: How Project Transition USA, a 501(c)3 Nonprofit, is Helping Transitioning Military Veterans Find Meaningful New Civilian Careers on LinkedIN.com

A New Mission, A New Purpose, and a Supportive Professional Network

Based in Tampa Florida, Project Transition USA is a 501(c)3 Nonprofit Organization dedicated to helping transitioning military veterans and their families find meaningful new careers in the civilian world. And they are making history.

The Challenge For Returning U.S. Military Troops and their Families

Thousands of American troops are expected to return home to the U.S. from overseas this year alone!

And due to defense cutbacks, most will be looking for new careers in the midst of a struggling economy - with countless more troops following next year and the year after that.

Here are some startling statistics. Did you know:

    * Two-thirds of veterans experienced a difficult transition from military to civilian life?

    * 69% of veterans report finding a job as the greatest hurdle in their transition?

    * When asked about the greatest challenges with finding a job, 62% cite the current economic situation, followed by explaining how military skills translate (60%) and competing with candidates who have been in the workforce longer (46%)?

    * Amongst veterans who reported they were not ready to transition to civilian life, 67% said they needed time off – to ‘figure out what to do next’ and decompress?”

How Project Transition USA is Different

This 501(c)3 nonprofit organization is the ONLY nonprofit that specializes in helping transitioning military veterans & their families find meaningful & rewarding civilian careers by learning to fully utilize the powerful networking & job search technology of http://www.LinkedIN.com.

Why LinkedIN? Because it's the #1 employment and professional networking tool in the civilian world - and it is virtually unknown to the military.

Project Transition USA also provides personal introductions at every opportunity because it’s often WHO you know that counts the most when seeking truly rewarding, meaningful employment.

    History in the Making!

Project Transition USA was the first to conduct a LinkedIN Job Search Workshop on any military base in the world (MacDill Air Force Base, Home of U.S. Central Command, Nov. 16, 2012).

Their workshop has now become a highly popular addition to MacDill’s Transition Assistance Program (TAP), and their mission is to expand this training to EVERY military base in the United States.

    How You Can Help

Show your support for our transitioning troops by participating in the Project Transition USA group on LinkedIN, attending their workshops, donating to their 501(c)3 organization, and hiring U.S. veterans at every opportunity.

Private and corporate donations account for 100% of Project Transition USA's revenue, and they are tax deductible due to their 501(c)3 status. All proceeds go directly towards helping transitioning American military veterans and their families find great new careers in the civilian world - and our troops urgently need our support.
