    Political Parties in Pakistan

“Elections belong to the people. It's their decision. If they decide to turn their back on the fire and burn their behinds, then they will just have to sit on their blisters.” (Abraham Lincoln). Crusade for Election 2013 is in full swing in Pakistan. Every capital Political party is contesting elections this time hoping to bring about a salubrious alter in the life of the man on the street and to uplift the degraded image of the motherland worldwide. Now dancing around the fire is not a solution to any problem. One should try to see beneath the surface in order to grasp an idea about the basic issue. Despite a stream of strong words and announcements by various political “monarch” nothing concrete on the ground has been done by any political party in order to put the train on the right track. Infect the situation has taken a quantum leap for the worst and we are in a now or never situation. Unfortunately for the past six decades, that’s almost since the birth of our country, the execution of every major or minor political party has never been up to the mark in the political history of Pakistan. In our society a politician thinks of the next election but if he had been a statesman he would have thought about the next generation. That’s why we only see politicians interacting with people in their constituency when an election is over head. A politician is an animal who can sit on a fence and yet keep both ears to the ground. In our culture unfortunately the keep both feet’s in the air. But thanks to the efforts of some emerging dynamic politicians and the vibrant media of today our society has become very much cognizant about the notions of our politicians, if they are not able to deliver in their upcoming tenure their own lies will swallow them and they will become a part of history. Our politicians in their long awaited speeches are mostly seen hammer and tongs for over hours only blaming their opponents, for their part of the weaknesses and failures, well the time had come that instead of shedding crocodile tears in front of the camera and the crowd the politicians must now act responsibly and instead of hiding in the closet must take the bull by the horns. Completing two or even less mega projects in a full tenure is just like a drop in the ocean. The politicians needed to resolve their slight disputes with one another on individual and party level, and must put on their joint efforts in building a foundation that is strong enough to put our country on the path to success. Pakistan today is facing its most dreadful defiance’s and we are in a war for our survival. Political parties are risking their life and limb but are contesting in elections that’s because they don’t want any one to sabotage the up coming elections and also to diminish the vigorous attempts of the forces which wants to derail the democratic course that had only started after moving heavens and earth by people belonging to every walk of life. In here worth mentioning are the efforts of politicians belonging to every major political party. So we can proudly say that not every politician is having a putrid nature in our political system. Well lets keep our finger’s crossed and pray that which ever party is selected to govern Pakistan for the next “five years” term is in the best interest of our homeland and serves Pakistan with an open heart, commitment and consecration. To make Pakistan a shinning moon among the stars is a dream and we must strive to make that dream a reality.
