My Part Time Life as a Celebrity Look-a-Like

Several years ago after I left active service in the US Marines, I returned to school for a follow-on degree in vocal performance.  Not bound anymore by strict grooming standards, I let my hair grow out a bit and left my razor to its own devices for awhile.  Then one evening as I was wearing my late grandfather's golfing hat, a friend of mine announced, "Wow...you kinda look like Johnny Depp."  And the rest is history...

Since then, I have learned so much about the world of celebrity look-a-likes, an industry with an energy and vibe all its own.  I have worked with agents in CA and NYC, been interviewed on the red carpet by THE Joan Rivers, been photographed for the Sept 2007 Issue of Men's Health Magazine, worked with Johnny's Angels (a charity of Johnny Depp fans benefitting Children's Hospice - www.johnnysangels.org), and even attended my first celebrity look-a-like convention in Las Vegas earlier this year.

During my time in this business, I have met many amazing and talented people including other look-a-likes who are so "dead on" you could brag to your friends that you met the REAL celeb and not one of us "fauxlebrities" afterwards!

The work is at once amusing, entertaining, fun, and interesting.  The whole thing has taken a bit of getting used to, of course.  Living in NYC, I get my shares of stares and whispers on the streets -- in a town full of actual celebrities people are on point to see them.  So, hopefully I might give someone an interesting story for the day if they pass me on the sidewalk and mistake me for Mr. Depp himself.  I mean, it's hard for ME to remember sometimes that my friend Pavel Sfera, is a Bono impersonator and not THE Bono.

The pictures above are a few highlights from my career so far.  They range from my first amateur shoot all the way down the line.  I hope you enjoy them!!!
