Giving Up That Dream Wedding
My fiancee' and I have been together for nearly 5 years and engaged nearly 2. After months of no dinner dates, salon appointments or name-brand condiments, we managed to save a few thousand for our low-key dream wedding. And then, he was laid off as a server. Clearly we were not the only one skipping out on dinner dates. And just past August, I was laid off as well. After 2 months of neither of us working, grocery and gas prices through the roof, our dream wedding has turned into just that...a dream. More than likely we will go to a justice of the peace and say our vows and pray that in a few years when we are better and the country is better, our dream will come true. C'est la vie...I couldn't afford a honeymoon anyway.
