It was late November 2013. We finished the whole day alpine training at the foot of Mt. Aspiring and headed back to Colin Todd hut for dinner. When we glimpsed through out the window, there it is. The mighty Mt. Aspiring showering in the mysterious reddish purple at the last light of daylight. The glimpse turned into a gaze in which we lost the track of time and the sense of the rest of the world. The magnificence, freedom and beauty of mountains is, after all, what we amateur alpinists are fascinated about.
