    Pickup Truck Pulls a City Bus Full of People


    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     LoracAngel told me, 'I just looked out my bedroom window to see the snow and saw this bus slide sideways as it tried to make a slight curve and come up the hill near my townhouse. After it slid, it came to a stop completely blocking both lanes. The white pickup was traveling in the same direction, but in front of the bus, and the driver stopped to help. I missed some of the action when I went to tell my father what had happened and went to grab my camera. By the time I got my gear and a plastic cover to protect it from the weather, the pickup driver had freed the bus and I captured this last part of the impromptu tow. I was able to ask the driver for his name and hometown, but it all happened very quickly and he left quickly as well. I have a few photos, but this short video was better.'

    Feb. 12, 2014, 3:35 P.M. Brian King of Pittsboro, NC stopped to help a Durham Area Transit Authority bus full of people that was stranded on Highgate Drive in Durham, NC by pulling it up a hill using a chain hooked to the back of his pickup truck.
