    Thailand: The Tourist Perspective

When I first arrived in Bangkok, it was three days after "Shutdown Bangkok" was initiated. The streets were quiet with a few tents here and there. The next day, the streets became flooded with protestors. It felt like one big festival to me. There were vendors everywhere selling food, t-shirts, etc. Each blocked street had a stage which was used to give speeches or play music.

This was a learning experience for me. I felt safe the entire time I was there despite the headlines. I never lingered in the middle of the crowds too long. Thailand has long road ahead of them. I would love to go back in the near future.
