I was in Raleigh this morning...my wife was having back surgery. The surgery was scheduled for 1:30 p.m., about the same time the storm hit. We live about 60 miles away, in Clinton, NC, which had already gotten about 4 inches of snow the day before. I left my wife, with her mother, as I needed to get back home for the evening. We live on a small farm, with horses and chickens to be fed, etc. Once my wife was settled in, I headed for home and right into the snowy gridlock of downtown Raleigh. The pictures I took were at different stages of my journey along the Raleigh beltline and I-40...normally a one hour trip, which became a five hour fiasco.
