CNN PRODUCER NOTE     sninga told me, 'I have not seen ice here yet, although it is raining now and with dropping temperatures in the evening we might get some ice too. The snow is pretty significant for DC, I think. It seems to be more than 8 inches and over a foot or more in the drifts. It is less snow than the Snowmagedon of 2009 but the snow is very wet and heavy and could cause damage. I have not seen any damage here yet.'

Snow drifts by the National Cathedral on Thursday morning following a snow storm.
