    Wintry weather 2014

    More from marjfz

Winter proving itself relentless once again!

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     marjfz said that this is one of the snowiest winters she's seen in years. "When I was a child growing up on Long Island in the 60s, winters like this were common," she said. "In my adult life, I haven't seen too many." Despite the heavy snow she reported New York City received today, she wasn't stuck in her house. "Luckily I live in the city and can walk to work and also [run] many errands on foot."
    - Verybecoming, CNN iReport producer

At this point I lost count. There have been more snowstorms this winter than I could remember. When it comes to this winter's weather, the comment "I'm over it!" seems to be the common sentiment.

There are still piles of dirty, frozen snow everywhere. About 6-8" of new wet snow covered the streets and sidewalks this morning. It seems even the plows have given up, as most streets are a mess. And the side effect, is no trash pickup while the DSNY is supposedly working on cleaning the roads.

Now the snow has turned to a freezing rain. What that will turn into next has yet to be seen!
