Akash Sharma Relaunches Officially The Hottest.
Young Entrepreneur, Akash Sharma plans to be making headlines this year with the relaunch of Officially The Hottest, his video streaming service titled MEVE, his new book and possibly his first movie.
The passionate 18-year-old has relaunched his entertainment blog 'Officially The Hottest' however, this time it's no blog. Sharma announced last year that Officially The Hottest will be down while the OTH team work on rebuilding the site.
"I don't want to grow up and be known as 'Akash Sharma, the guy who made a successful blog.' I want to to be known as 'Akash Sharma, the guy who made a huge impact in the entertainment industry.' I'm from Edmonton, Alberta and the entertainment scene isn't the greatest, we have some great musicians here, yet none of them make it international. Local artists are stuck with the local fans, the local shows and the local press, and the sad part is when you're a local artists nobody pays attention to you until you make it. This is why I relaunched OTH, I wanted to create a network of artists from different areas and help them build a successful music career."
Officially The Hottest have added a few new updates this year, one of them being a podcast hosted by Ruben Jay. "I met Ruben Jay when I went to LA with one of my team members Gagan Alag. Ruben is just hilarious, professional and he has huge potential, I'm really glad I got him on the team, he's like the Ryan Seacrest of OTH."
OTH has been working with a talented group in California called the 409th Division. The group is founded by Jaspreet Singh, Mark Gonzalez and Laurens Garcia, a bunch of talented art students. Akash talks about discovering the 409th Division. "I discovered the 409th Division through a shared post on Facebook. One of my friends posted a music video of Jaspreet Singh's song and I was amazed, I wanted to get in touch with him and sign him to OTH, but before I did I found out he had his own label titled the 409th Division. Now we're working alongside each other, nobody is under anyone, it's all equal work. We're working on JSD's (Jaspreet Singh's) new album which will be out this year."
Akash Sharma will be releasing a video streaming service later this year titled MEVE, however; it's strictly for entertainers only. More information on MEVE will be released soon, as of now Akash has just finished his book titled "Woah, I wrote a book" a book about the struggles of being an entrepreneur, why he almost stopped OTH, and what changed his life. "Yeah, I have a book that I've been working on for a year and a half, which is finally finished. It went through a lot of name changes and it got to the point where I just couldn't think of a name. I went to lunch with a friend of mine and I told him about my book, the first thing that came out of his mouth was 'Woah, you wrote a book?' And that's how I found my title."
The founder of Officially The Hottest may also be making an acting debut this year with a movie. "When I was nine, I always wanted to be an actor, so it's pretty cool that I get to do that and run OTH."
