A dog wanders the streets in search of food. Out of nowhere and under the cover of darkness, he’s shot with what turns out to be a poison dart. Within minutes, he’s writhing in pain, struggling to breathe. It could take nearly an hour before he finally dies.

It’s hard to imagine, but this nightmare could have been a scene from Sochi, Russia, where thousands of street dogs reportedly have been killed at the hands of a private company hired to "clean up" what officials called “biological trash” ahead of the Olympics.

Incredibly, the killing was done as the International Olympic Committee – the governing body of the Olympics – looked on and did nothing. Allowing the culling to go on is in stark contrast to Olympian values.

CNN please let the world know about this dog culling thats happening in sochi. let us make a differnence and report everything not just the good stuff. let us help these helpless animals thats are being killed just to make way for the olympics. these are not olympian values and it should be stopped
