Betty DeGeneres LGBT Activist & mother of Ellen DeGeneres

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Chris Morrow interviewed LGBT activist Betty DeGeneres at the Time to Thrive conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, on February 14. DeGeneres, mother to comedian and television host Ellen DeGeneres, shared her thoughts on why education and support are important to prevent bullying of LGBT youth. 'The LGBT youth endure not only law issues, but impacts of family rejection, bullying, and concern for their safety. This inaugural national conference by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) is taking a step forward in giving children a healthy and safe environment to be anything they want to be,' Morrow said.
