Volcanic ash still traveling across East Java, Indonesia
Gunung Kelud (meaning "The Broom Mountain" in Javanese) volcanic eruption on Friday night at 22:50 (Western Indonesia Time) has reached an altitude of 17 kilometers.
Until now, the strong wind is spreading the volcanic ash to the nearby cities such as Purwokerto, Chilachap, and Bondowoso.
The highways covered with volcanic ash are making it difficult to drive safely on.
Students from neighboring cities are volunteering to collect charities from people to buy protective masks for the victims.
Local flights to Yogyakarta, Solo, and Surabaya are still being canceled due to the bad weather conditions caused by the volcano.
