    Edith Wilson. Second wife of President Woodrow Wilson. She served as the "steward" of his presidency upon his becoming a stroke victim. Ironically during her "reign" as de facto president her husbands dream of a League of Nations was fatally damaged by her refusal to accept the credentials of a British Ambassador.
