    Nauset Light by Night

Nearly 6 million people are said to visit Cape Cod each year and I am lucky to be one of them! Visitors swarm the beaches and towns on the Cape from Memorial Day to Labor Day each year. The iconic Nauset Light gets about 6,000 visitors each summer, along with the millions of people that have seen it's likeness on a bag of Cape Cod potato chips. The cast iron lighthouse has graced the shores of Eastham since 1923. With a prominent location next to the beach parking lot, it's hard to miss!

I've seen it myself a handful of times, but this time was unique. It was a cold and windy winter night and I was the only visitor. Clouds were streaming across the sky with brief intermissions for the stars to shine through. Nauset Light lit up the night sky as it has done for 90 years, whether or not anyone is watching.
