I sat besides a Tiger... at the Thailand Zoo.

I have always wanted to pose with a Lion. I know that these are wild and dangerous animals, however that was my ardent wish.

I got the chance to do so, when I joined a Tour group in Colombo Sri Lanka to go on a trip to Thailand in 2008., and although there was this place in Bangkok where there were many tame lions looked after by Buddhist Monks, and which was the place that I really so longed to go to, our Tour guide did not take us there, but instead took us to the Samutprakan Crocodile Farm and Zoo, where there were tigers, and I had the chance of posing with one of these magnificent and beautiful creatures. From our group I was the only person who ventured and wanted to take a picture with the Tiger., no one else wanted to be mauled and eaten alive !! - and  Although it was not a Tiger that I had wanted to take a picture with but a Lion,  I had to settle for the next second best thing, the Tiger.

And so I went into the enclosure with trepidation and my heart was beating at a rate and going pit a pat... while my  group and a audience watched me nervously, but I was determined to come back home to Sri Lanka with that picture, and I am thankful I did, cos its one of my prized photos in my album. ...
