This iReport is part of an assignment:
Bailout outrage |
AIG's Executive Spa Treatment costs 10+ years salary....
Why are we bailing out people that have it made in the shade anyway, especially when they are just abusing the money. Some of executives are getting ~$1 million bonuses. And they threw away ~$450K for a quick spa visit in California for the Executives. Sure if you think about it ~$450K is a drop in the bucket in comparison to the $113 Billion we (the taxpayers) have given them to "bail" them out.
Obviously they don't realize that is more than 10 years salary for a lot of Americans. That's what makes me so upset. I drive to work everyday, 110 miles round trip. If I had the luxury of having ~$450K, I could live off that for the majority of my life and live comfortably . I'm just ~25 years old married with a 5 month old daughter. It's all about living within your means. People don't have to live luxurious lives to be comfortable. All you need are the necessities of life, such as food, shelter, clothing, etc.. Not saying that is all I purchase with my paychecks, I purchase items that I want from time to time.
I know that we can't just give everyone a cut from the $700 billion bailout because that would cause a disastrous inflation on everything from food to gas. It would potentially put us in a worse shape financially than what we are already in.
