    These are Depression era photos from Saltville Va. Saltville is a small town in South West VA near the TN line. During the Civil War the town was heavily mined underneath for salt that helped the confederacy cure meat. The town still boasts "The Salt Capitol of the Confederacy" on the Welcome sign.
