CNN PRODUCER NOTE     BQueen1 visited the Brooklyn Wall of Remembrance for the first time on Sunday, February 23. The wall is a memorial for all the local first responders who lost their lives on 9/11. "I was moved and astonished by the stark and stunning beauty of it," she said. "It was very clean and beautiful, and I didn't realize so many local people gave their lives at 9/11."
    - Verybecoming, CNN iReport producer

A lot of time has passed, but memories linger on. It was a brutal day, a day, a period of tradgedy. But in the Coney Island sun, as it was Sunday, you could not help but celebrate in a bittersweet way the lives and dedication of the 9/11 first responders who gave.. their lives in the tradgedy. But that is what this tribute wall wants you to do, celebrate life.
I was taken back by the beauty of it for a moment.
The Brooklyn Wall of Remembrance is located on the west wall of MCU park on Surf Ave.
This is the only memorial to all the first responders in the area, the only one to have their portraits engraved in granite. I think it is fitting as these people deserve to be remembered for their courage and dedication. If you come to visit here, and it is a sunny day you will feel better. They did a beautiful job on the wall and tribute walk. Then you can go to the beach and get some sun.
The German Shepard in the picture also perished and should be remembered to for his dedication.
