    Apple’s iPad - A Leader in Education Market

     

    In today’s world where everything has summed up on one click only, people have come closer and the way of doing things have changed on a bigger point. Education is also the part of this change.

     

    Books have been replaced by Tablets and teachers have been replaced by virtual instructors and videos. This change has been beneficial for some companies manufacturing technology based products such as tablets, laptops, smart phones etc. Apple is one of those players.

     

    Apple says that last year was their best selling year ever; they sold around $1 Billion worth of products among which 90% were sold to education sector. Apple iPad took over 94% of the tablet market share last year in education sector.

     

    Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple said that they do saw some chrome books in the hands of students but most of them either had a Mac Book or an iPad. He himself admitted that this is the highest market share ever in their history. He further said that this shows that they are making some amazing products that are preferred by students and it feels great to serve education market.

     

    Through a research it has been observed that more individuals now look for convenience and easy accessibility which makes them opt the options that provide flexibility to them. This change has been seen in education world too, more students are now choosing online mode of learning over the traditional mode. Not only this, nowadays professionals who have quite a good working experience n their fields also think for completing their education or increasing their educational profiles through fast degrees online in multiple subjects. This has been the recent inclusion in online education world and has provided a facility to those who didn’t have a vocational degree but have a practical life experience.

     

    Tim Cook, while speaking to their employees in an annual meeting said that education is now taking different turns and has now became automated and digitalized and therefore they need to make their products compatible with the online learning mode and more users friendly to make it easier for students to learn through them. Through an exploration it has been watched that more people now search for accommodation and simple receptiveness which makes them pick the choices that give adaptability to them. This change has been seen in training world too, more understudies are presently picking online mode of taking in over the accepted mode.

     

    To cater education market, the IOS App developers have created some really useful apps for students such as Calzy; a calculator with a new look and design supported by IOS 7. The other app that appeared to be interesting for students and instructors is Zamurai Mobile Whiteboard; it looks like a mind map of white boards where brainstorming is quite easy and useful.

     

     

    This analysis and research has proved that education is no longer being kept in between huge walls, its open; it’s accessible and is reachable by every individual. The only need is to make the process more smooth and understandable by the learners.
