Dear Ambassadors Lomellin, Culham, Vallarino We, Latin-born American citizens, are shocked to witness the massacre of students and everyday people at the hands of the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. The victims' relatives and friends, and other witnesses to such crimes against humanity have recorded said crimes in multiple pictures, videos and statements that are beginning to reach the rest of the world. Venezuelan state entities have utterly blocked all media outlets, trying to prevent the release of facts such as: * Executions by "Colectivos" or gangs armed by the government and backed by members of the National Guard. * Bomb and bullet attacks to the neighborhood and homes of any persons found recording the gangs' violent acts. * Gang looting and burglary of homes, parking lots and vehicles, under the blind eye of the National Guard, whose main duty is to protect the very same citizens under attack. * Snipers, acting under military or political orders, strategically located on the rooftops of places where peaceful civilian demonstrations were held, who fired against and have killed several young students. In view of the grave situation currently taking place in Venezuela, we call on the world at large and make a direct plea for the Organization of American States to enforce the Democratic Charter and take all steps necessary to prevent further violence and the death of our youth, the future of America and the world. Thanks you all. ROBERTO A MARTIN Caracas, Venezuela
