The winter of 2014 has been extremely difficult for most people living in the Northeast. I live in New Hampshire and this picture is a view from my front yard. The snow creates a majestic view of the mountains, but in reality, most residents living in my area worry about the weight of all the snow on their roofs. I personally have a metal roof, which causes the snow to slide off the roof and accumulate on the ground. Fortunately I do not have to worry about my roof collapsing, but I do worry about the weight of all the snow on my back porch. At one point, it reached five feet and covered half of my picture window. Even my cocker spaniel has had enough of winter this year. He tip toes over the mounds of snow to find a safe place to do his business and rushes back to the warmth of our home in record time.
Even though the snow is beautiful to look at and fun to play in, I will definitely jump for joy when spring arrives this year.
