    Out Of Control Australian Bushfire

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     DavidFullard told me, 'There was a bushfire burning out of control in bushland at a golf course in Port Kennedy, Western Australia, coming within meters of homes. Residents and fire crews tackled the blaze with water hoses. Helicopter water bombers were called in also. I was about 500 meters from the fire at the time. The smoke rose up high and I couldn’t smell smoke, but it could be seen from around the City of Rockingham.' '

A deliberately lit fire in bushland at the Port Kennedy Golf Course in Western Australia has come within metres of impacting residents and homes.

Frantic residents attacked the fire with garden hoses and a hydrant house until fire fighters arrived from surrounding stations.

The fire was out of control and unpredictable spreading in a northerly direction towards homes.

It was brought under control and extinguished a few hours later with the help of Helicopter Attack Aircraft.

No lives lost, nor properties damaged.
