    Remote aerial photography

Aerial Views of the Pacific Northwest

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Chad Johnson captured the views of Houda Point in Trinidad, California, a popular spot for surfers. Johnson has been taking aerial videos for about two years and he relies on his trusty quadcopter and GoPro camera on a gimbal. “I believe the use of remote control multi-rotors used for the purposed of aerial videography is exploding now, and when the FAA makes it legal to do this professionally, the business opportunities will be limitless,” he said.
    - zdan, CNN iReport producer

I've been doing aerial video for about 2 years now with my humble quadcopter, and a GoPro on a gimbal. I am able to get some pretty nice looking shots thanks to the amazing landscapes that abound here on the North Coast. I believe the use of remote control multirotors used for the purposed of aerial videography is exploding now, and when the FAA makes it legal to do this professionally, the business opportunities will be limitless. There are so many uses for these amazing technological wonders! Please enjoy this video I captured in one flight I took on Thanksgiving Day 2012 with my trusty quadcopter and GoPro camera. The location is the beautiful Houda Point, overlooking the Pacific Ocean near Trinidad California.

    Thanks

    Chad Johnson
