As warned , the van taxi drivers from all over Albania protested today in front of the Prime Minister. They have asked the Prime Minister Edi Rama to reverse a decision of the Ministry of Transport to give them the opportunity to practice. Quite angry, they clashed with riot.
President of Independent Trade Unions of Albania , Gëzim Kalaja, said the protests would continue until the fulfillment of the conditions. He hints that the protesters will gather again on Wednesday, the day of the visit Albania Italian President Georgio Napolitano and European Commissioner for Enlargement, Stefan Fule .
Meanwhile, Transport Minister Edmond Haxhinasto has described as unfair the protest. He stated that the van drivers license did not work outside the law and interurban.
That leaves only the final position of the Prime Minister Edi Rama. In contrast, protesters have threatened to escalate the strike .
