GSP Plus for Pakistan & Sajjad Haider Karim

The EU's "Generalised Scheme of Preferences" (GSP) allows deGSP Plus for Pakistan & Sajjad Haider Karim'veloping country exporters to pay less or no duties on their exports to the EU. This gives them vital access to EU markets and contributes to their economic growth.

The reformed GSP, which will apply as from 2014, focuses support on developing countries most in need.

The European Union (EU) on granted Generalised System of Preferences (GSP) Plus status to Pakistan with an impressive count of 406 votes, granting Pakistani products a duty free access to the European market.

The GSP Plus status will allow almost 20 per cent of Pakistani exports to enter the EU market at zero tariff and 70 per cent at preferential rates.

This status would enable Pakistan to export more than US$1 billion worth of products to the international markets. Only the textile industry would earn profits of more than Rs1 trillion per year. It will be a milestone, boost our economy and create 100,000 plus jobs.

BUT how it could possible for Nation to achieve it. It is not Pakistani current or previous leadership or Government/ Opposite party in Pakistan who got approval. Although a number of people been working on this project but the main and vital role player for this successful approval is the British member of European Parliament Dr Sajjad Karim.

Dr Sajjad Karim is not at the stage to supervise it to make sure " all is well". He is in contact with all key persons in Pakistani leadership. Dr Sajjad Karim is doing unbelievable things in order to implement it successfully. Nation is surprised and thankful to Dr Sajjad Karim for his wonderful work for the People of Pakistan.

Politician, Rulers and Administrators must follow Dr Sajjad Karim as role model to be true friend of Pakistan and People of Pakistan.
