Vietnam and New Mexico Travel Writing and Photography Workshops Offered in 2014
What if you could go on vacation and learn something new?
Travel Writing On Location, a popular international travel writing workshop series, has announced two new workshops and tours for 2014 — an 11-day tour and workshop in Vietnam and a four-day workshop in Santa Fe, NM.
Taught by seasoned travel journalists, the workshops provide instruction on all facets of travel writing, including writing technique, online publishing, social media, travel photography and more. Participants also tour the destination with local experts, visit local attractions, interview locals and experience the culture.
Costs are similar to a normal vacation package, with workshop/tour combos starting at $995.
Accommodations, tours, activities, workshop classes and most meals are included.
Vietnam Highlights: 11-Day Travel Writing Tour & Workshop
This small group tour starts with a day of writing workshops in Saigon. Sightseeing begins the next day with a tour of Saigon, and continues to top sites throughout the country. Participants go boating on the Mekong Delta, tour Hue on the Perfume River, and then drive to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Hoi An with additional writing workshops taking place during the tour.
The group then heads Danang and Hanoi before taking an overnight cruise on Halong Bay. The Vietnam workshop and tour was recently featured in Los Angeles Times Travel. Registration deadline is March 10, 2014.

Price: $2,995 per person, double occupancy; $650 for single supplement. Includes accommodations, ground transportation, airport transfers and some meals. International airfare is extra.
Santa Fe Travel Writing & Photography Workshop
New Mexico’s Native American and Spanish roots run deep.
Participants can explore this rich heritage during a four-day writing and photography workshop. In addition to the classes, writers can tour art galleries in the nation’s second largest art capital featuring emerging artists and famous artists such as Georgia O'Keeffe, savor southwest cuisine, and learn about Native American culture. Workshops cover travel writing techniques, photography, publishing your own blog or website and the business of travel writing.
When: May 29 - June 1, 2014
Price: $995 per person. Includes luxury accommodations at the historic La Fonda on the Plaza, workshops, sightseeing and some meals.
