    Monk Fishing Cabin, Cong Ireland

The Monks' Fishing Cabin was used by Monks from the nearby Cong Abbey to fish in the stream. It contains a trap door in the floor that may have been designed to allow the Monks to use nets to make their catch while still protected from the elements. Our tour guide described that it has been suggested that a bell connected to the net alerted the Monks in the Abbey that a fresh catch was waiting for them.
