Patung Satria Ghatotkaca Statue in Bali

The Patung Satria Ghatotkaca Statue was built in 1993, located at a major intersection on the northeast of Ngurah Rai International Airport. In the Hindu Epic Mahabaratha, Gatotkaca (or Ghatotkach), the son of Bhima, one of the five Pandava brothers, is described as a very brave and powerful knight. He is identified as a flying knight who is in charge to protect Pandava Kingdom.

The creation of the statue, apart as an effort to beautify the landscape around the airport, it is believed, could contribute to safety and spiritual protection for all incoming and outgoing flights from Denpasar, Bali.
