Nar Gourmet Olive Oils in Istanbul, Turkey

As someone who travels frequently, some of my best travel memories are flavors. While I can take endless photos and videos during my adventures, sometimes it's a taste or a meal that stays with me the longest.

My travel photo of the day is of one of those wonderful travel memories, a picture of a beautiful display of Nar Gourmet olive oils in a special shop called Armaggan in Istanbul. The picture reminds me of a great evening in Istanbul and so does using the olive oil, which I do all the time at home. The oils displayed are from different regions in Turkey. Like wine, each olive oil has its own taste and characteristics, depending on the appellation. I took the photo because I liked the beautiful color of the oil and how perfectly the bottles were arranged. I wanted to share it because it captures a specific moment from my adventure in Istanbul.

Nar Gourmet is a premium Turkish food brand that brings the flavors of Turkey to the world. By working with a select group of farmers and producers, they control the whole process and ensure the quality of the final product. It's real foodie stuff, with single-variety and single-estate olive oils offering a real premium experience. They also have vinegars, jams and marmalades and spices. I brought back a lot of the products as gifts as I think it makes a special reminder of my visit to Turkey.

I took the photo in November 2013 with Samsung Galaxy SII phone, and you can see my reflection in the mirror behind the bottles.
